Logging Off for Lent - Day 40

Logging Off for Lent - Day 40
Today's bible reading was very emotional. I read Mark 15:17-72, and there's so much that happens that I had to do some additional reading to fill in the blanks. I appreciate the brevity of the book of Mark but wanted to dig deeper.

Here's what's covered in today's passage: Jesus announces His betrayal, the first Lord's Supper, Jesus predicts Peter's denial, Jesus' prayer in the garden, Judas' betrayal of Jesus, Jesus faces the Sanhedrin and Peter's denial. Whew!

Logging Off for Lent - Day 36

Logging Off for Lent - Day 36
Astonished and afraid. Two words split the difference between the Jewish people and those in authority over them as they watched Jesus ride into town on a colt (or a donkey in some translations). Which do you think was which?

Put yourself in the place of those watching this historical scene - those who were astonished laid their clothes down in His path, and those who were afraid stood ready to attack. Why do you think they did this? Shouldn't it be the opposite?
